Statement of Faith CREED is made up of the
following people:

John
Shannon
John joined us in June 2011 in the new role
of Development Officer. This is rooted in
the context of the local Church where John
is an Elder in Kings Fellowship Bangor. Key
involvement is in Pastoral Care; the
development of team based leadership;
Community outreach and CAP. John is also a
trustee of FONIC TRUST, supporting mission
projects in Nepal through a ‘business as
mission’ model. Formerly in Sales and
Marketing with Unilever for over 20 years,
John will focus on the Creed Pro-VISION project,
designed to help Churches bring Vision to
life. He is married (happily) to Liz and
they have two adult children. |

Anne Brown
Anne Brown is a solicitor who has worked in
general legal practice for 25 years, dealing
predominantly with property and commercial
matters. She has just completed an MA in
Teaching English to Speakers of Other
Languages. She has been engaged as a policy
consultant by the Church of Ireland Hard
Gospel Project and, more recently, by the
Law Society of Northern Ireland. She is a
member of St Patrick's Parish Church,
Coleraine. |

Simon Brown
Simon Brown (Secretary) is presently a
partner in a local insurance firm, but has
previously worked in both the youth and
community sector, including chairing YMCA
Ireland and being a member of the YMCA world
council. As a member of Shankill Parish
Church Simon was a member of the Jethro
development committee which oversaw the
design and fund raising of the £2.5 million
facility. He is married to Nicola and has
two energetic young children - Emma and
Daniel. |

John Kee
John is the Director of the Summer Madness
Youth Festival. After a theology degree and
teacher training John worked for the
Southern Education and Library Board in
community based youth work in Lurgan for
five years. As the Youth Officer for the
Church of Ireland he initiated numerous
projects and then spent almost ten years as
a freelance consultant working in schools,
his local parish and on various regional
youth initiatives. (History Makers,

Conference, 360 Discipleship Programme). He
is a member of Belvoir Parish Church in
Belfast. |

Cyril
McElhinney
Cyril McElhinney MBE (Chairman) has
considerable experience in major projects
which include Windsor Centre, Salford, The
Glenada Conference Centre, Newcastle, the
Jethro Centre, Lurgan and the Catacombs,
Calry Parish in Sligo. Formerly employed in
the Youth Service in N. Ireland and as
Parish Co-ordinator in Shankill Parish,
Lurgan, Cyril served as Diocesan Secretary
for 6 years in the Diocese of Elphin &
Ardagh, and he was a committee member of the
RCB. Presently he serves on The
Methodist/Church of Ireland Covenant
Council, Church 21 and Community Faiths’
Forum (NI). |

Robert
Miller
Robert Miller was ordained in 1995 to serve
as Curate assistant in the parish of
Shankill in the Diocese of Down and Dromore
and currently serves as Rector of the
Grouped parishes of Christ Church, Culmore,
Muff & St Peter's in the Diocese of Derry
and Raphoe. Robert has been involved in
ministry amongst young people at a Parish,
Diocesan, and national church level;
chairing the Executive committee through a
period of strategic development. After a
community audit and strategic review in 2004
Robert established Maghera Parish Caring
securing its future sustainability through
external funding. He currently serves on the
Diocesan strategic review team in Derry and
Raphoe as well as being a member of Diocesan
Council, Standing Committee and Warden of
the Diocesan Ministry of Healing. Robert is
interested in developing the local church as
it engages with its community and when he
has time enjoys the outdoors. |

Basil
O’Malley
Basil is an active member of Magheralin
Parish where he was Honorary Treasurer for
twelve years, during this period the Parish
built a new Worship centre. A former
regional general manager of the Northern
Bank he retired after over thirty years.
Over the years Basil has been involved in
different aspects of Christian outreach
including "Love your neighborhood" and the
‘Red Door’ Drop-in and is currently involved
in Christians Against Poverty. He is happily
married to Nan and has 3 grown up children.

Eric Rainey
Since his Retirement from the Duke of
Edinburgh’s Award in 2009, Eric has retained
a wide interest and involvement in Youth and
Community related activity. He is a member
of Seymour Street Methodist Church, a
Methodist Local preacher, a Deputy
Lieutenant for Co. Antrim and was awarded
the CVO in 2009. Married to June, his
hobbies and interests include family,
grandchildren (5 at the last count), sport,
cycling and caravanning. |

Beryl
Whitehead
Beryl has worked with the South American
Mission Society in Paraguay and Chile for 16
years, teaching and church planting. Since
then she has served with husband Gordon in 3
parishes in 3 dioceses of the Church of
Ireland. Beryl is a Mum of 3 and a
grandmother of 7 and now belongs to St.
Saviour's Church, Dollingstown. She enjoys
reading, all kinds of crafts and attends a
painting class. She only has to see an
airport to make her think of travelling
(mostly to South America)! |

Simon
Grattan
Simon Grattan is Managing Director of Sengenia
limited, a company specialising in fibre
optic sensors. Simon brings business and
entrepreneurial skills to the CREED team and
is helping work towards the long term
strategy as well as the day to day aspects
of the work. He is also a Methodist local
preacher with Craigmore Methodist in Aghalee.
Simon is married to Carole and they have
twin boys, Andrew and Stephen. |
